Rave Computer introduces the Rugged 1U Aluminum Short Depth Server, developed for the US Navy for deployment on a surface ship. The custom designed 1U was introduced at AFCEA West 2008 in San Diego, California.
Light weight and under fifteen pounds, the server contains up to four processing cores in a small 1U short depth package, supporting a high ambient temperature. It uses a Supermicro® motherboard and Intel® processors.
"What makes Rave unique in developing this system is our ability to take the customer's strict requirements and customize the server to fit those design specifications," said Dave Burnett, Director of Engineering. "It features front accessible I/O and the chassis was developed using aluminum to ensure low magnetic properties, which is an absolute necessity for our customer."
