Rave Computer Association

Rave Computer Association - Customized Aircraft Computer Systems

Since 1988, military and prime contractors have turned to Rave Computer to design and manufacture computer systems for such crucial projects as the US Air Force's RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft, the US Navy's EP-3E surveillance aircraft, and the US Navy's technology insertion LA and VA class submarines.

Why have so many military contractors relied on Rave to do so much for them? The answer is our unique experience, creativity and flexibility.

Customized aircraft computer systems

Most integrators build their aircraft computer systems in an R&D environment, and so have a vested interest in pushing those aircraft computer systems onto the customer, whether or not they are the best fit for your needs.

Rave doesn't believe in a one-size-fits-all template for aircraft computer systems. We often work with customers at the proof-of-concept phase, and then identify the best solution to meet the requirements of their specific aircraft computer project.

Sometimes that means finding the best aircraft computer systems already available in the marketplace, leveraging our strong relationships with top technology vendors. Sometimes that means modifying those aircraft computer systems, and sometimes that means building customized aircraft computer systems from scratch. However, it always means finding the best customized aircraft computer system to fit your specific needs, and at the best possible price.

Bespoke aircraft computer design

Military requirements tend to be unique, so you need an integrator with a proven ability to provide customized aircraft computer systems to specific requirements.

For two decades, companies have relied on Rave's mechanical and electrical engineers for creative solutions to complex aircraft computer system problems.

Consider the US Air Force's RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft, which needed an 18in chassis that weighed less than 30lbs and could run both Windows® and Linux with dual processors. After searching the commercial marketplace and finding no such chassis available, Rave's engineers built one to custom specifications. The Air Force was so pleased that Rave was asked to construct seven more customized chasses for different parts of the 'Big Safari' plane.

Rave produces high-quality standard customized aircraft computer systems to meet MIL-SPEC requirements, stressing flexibility and customization in design.

Ruggedized COTS aircraft computer systems

Rave designs and manufactures rugged COTS computer systems that meet stringent requirements for US military projects. Rave engineers our standard systems to meet MIL SPEC certifications and to be flexible in design.

Rave Computer Association provides integrated rackmount and tower systems that utilize SPARC, AMD, and Intel processors. Our focus towards the military and prime contractors is to provide computer systems that meet MIL-STD specifications for form, fit, and function. Our experience includes systems that we have designed to meet MIL-STD 167-1, 810, and 901D. Rave Computer Association designs systems for deployment to field, mobile, and tactical environments.

Our customized aircraft computer systems are carefully designed to meet size and footprint requirements, weight limits, standardization, volumetric air flow, EMI, and cable harness requirements for copper to optical conversions, and are also customized.

We've handled everything, from NE&SS surface systems and guided missile carriers, to nuclear aircraft carriers and underwater C41 'System of Systems Solutions.'

ISO-certified aircraft computer systems

With Rave, you'll be working with people who have the experience and expertise to deal with any situation quickly – and head off problems before they happen.

Rave has strong ties to leading vendors, like Sun, AMD, Intel, Microsoft® and Nallatech. Our close relationships with these vendors' engineers give us another avenue to solve issues quickly – and to guide you on where customized aircraft computer system technology is heading.

We are an ISO 9001:2000 certified company with state-of-the-art ESD-certified facilities, implementing six sigma methodology to ensure the highest level of quality. You can count on Rave to provide multi-vendor customized aircraft computer system product testing to ensure quality and system compatibility.

Rave is classified as a small business concern, and provides a central focus for all your engineers working on different parts of the project, saving you time by doing a lot of the legwork for you. Rave's proactive project management includes configuration management, customized BOMs, EOL management, and project data requirements.

If your customized aircraft computer system project is based on a five-year deployment, you need to know what plans the vendor of, for example, the motherboards has over the next half-decade. At Rave, the end of the project doesn't mean the end of our commitment to you; instead, we provide excellent after-sale service.
