Teleplan Globe - TP-FMS – Teleplan Frequency and Spectrum Management System and Communication Planning Tool

Teleplan was established in 1959. The company has constantly focused on delivering high performance products and services to the global defence and telecom industry. That focus has today made us one of Norway’s most significant exporters and most sought after company within the defence and civil sector. In demonstrating our capabilities year in, year out, we have been an indispensable partner and sub-contractor for companies known from the international arena for decades.

RADIO NETWORK PLANNING AND FREQUENCY ALLOCATION

TP-FMS (Teleplan Frequency and Spectrum Management System and Communication Planning Tool) is a reliable and accurate system for radio network planning and allocation of frequencies for radio and radio link systems. You will be able to analyse, plan and allocate frequencies within the HF, VHF, UHF and SHF frequency bands, using the spectrum from 2MHz to 40GHz.

SIMPLIFIED MAP PRESENTATION FOR FREQUENCY AND SPECTRUM PLANNING

TP-FMS is based upon Teleplan's high performance map application MARIA. As a result you will be able to visualize your frequency and spectrum planning and allocation, depicted on digital maps including graphical overlays (including APP6 A tactical graphics), and object lists. This enables dynamic situational awareness when the mission or complexity of the premises changes. All modules are integrated under a common, purpose-designed user interface.

STATIC AND SEMI-STATIC DATA

A significant amount of detailed technical and geographical information may be prepared in advance in order to limit the operator workload in the field. This information, called static and semi-static data can be retrieved and edited at any time during an operation. Static and semi-static data can be created by a local or remote TP-FMS operator as well as imported from external systems and stored to disk. All the data can be used 'as is' or modified for the current mission.

INTERFACE RADIO NETWORK PLANNING TO C2IS SYSTEMS

TP-FMS is designed to utilize information from other systems and supports the exchange of information regarding frequencies, emitter parameters and network parameters. Data that may be exchanged includes Common Operational Picture (COP), order of battle and operational plans from other existing C2IS systems and frequency allocations provided by the NATO ARCADE system. The system provides an interface for exporting net packages to the frequency distribution parts of existing radio communication systems.

HIERARCHICAL AND DISTRIBUTED RADIO FREQUENCY PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT

TP-FMS is a distributed, hierarchical communication planning system. Multiple users can simultaneously plan communications for different areas, different types of radio network, or for different organizational units. The system supports the exchange of planning data between multiple TP-FMS workstations and you will also be able to export and import data from different TP-FMS operators for information and validation purposes. This will be your means to disclosing possible coordination conflicts within several frequency plans as well as a validation point for a superior planning authority or HQ.

SITUATION AND SCENARIO MANAGEMENT

During an operation the tactical situation may change quite rapidly. As a result the communication planner will need to prepare alternative node and network deployment plans consistent with the supported unit's current plans and orders. TP-FMS allows such plans to be prepared simply by defining operational snapshots, or 'situations', in its scenario manager. Each situation contains all data needed for interference and coverage analysis in addition to frequency management. The operator may maintain a number of situations, typically the current situation and several alternative scenarios according to operational plans.

COTS SOLUTIONS AND COST BENEFIT

In almost any industry we see a trend to utilizing COTS products to optimise cost-benefit requirement analysis. If you care about moving and delivering according to stringent demands, TP-FMS is the means to that end. TP-FMS runs on Intel based PCs running Microsoft Windows NT4.0/2000/XP.

We have the experience and knowledge already deployed in our COTS products to start that motion.

Several network planning features - This picture shows a coverage diagram and the radio link analysis tool. The network structure is visualised directly in the map , but this is only a few of the radio network planning features and capabilities available in our frequency management system.

Automatic frequency assignment - TP-FMS offers automatic frequency assignment for all or selected radio networks. The assignment goal is to minimize the total interference. Interference is calculated based on radio parameters, relevant propagation models and collocation analysis.

Scenario interchange - This is a scenario with several situations that contains one active situation and four plans. The user may easily change the active situation, selecting which situations should be visible in the map, and make changes to the situation tree in the FMS Scenario window.
