The Symetrics product range includes the AN/ALE-47 countermeasure dispenser system; the Symetrics-developed AN/ALM-295 flight-line tester; the AN/USQ-131 Memory Loader Verifier Set (MLVS) for transfer / verification of EW software; the family of Improved Data Modems (IDM) for digital communication onboard military aircraft, which include the IDM-302 and IDM-304; the PRISM improved data modem, which adds imagery transmission to IDM-equipped aircraft; the Symetrics-developed IDM-501 and mini IDM; and the mini-radio IDM for applications requiring a weapons data-link.

MINI-RADIO WEAPONS DATALINK

The Weapons DataLink is a data modem and radio combined that provides users with the capability to transmit and receive data to and from a digital message device using TACFIRE protocol, AFAPD protocol, IDL protocol or MIL-STD-188-220. With its low cost and small size, it is ideally suited for use as a weapons datalink.

IDM: COCKPIT SITUATIONAL AWARENESS

Symetrics recently added the 304 to their family of IDM products. IDM is a recognised, multi-path approach to situational awareness in the cockpit. It provides the world's military organizations with additional utility and service life from their existing installed radio equipment. Interconnecting with up to four separate radios (HF, UHF, VHF or SATCOM), the IDM facilitates the creation of a digital transmission network for the sharing of sensor and tactical data among all coalition forces without regard to nationality, language or platform.

• IDM-501: originally designed for UAV applications, the IDM-501 fits easily into fighter and attack aircraft and helicopters, with all the capabilities of existing IDM systems
• Mini-IDM: designed as a cost-effective WDL for air-launched munitions and for UAV applications where a lightweight, extremely small LRU can be integrated
• PC/104 IDM: designed for all applications that have extreme space restrictions but with available space within another LRU supporting a PC/104 structure
• VP-IDM: VPIDM combines the concept of the PRISM card, and the upgrades include an improved pilot vehicle interface and a compact flash card for image upload and archive

CMDS ELECTRONIC WARFARE SYSTEM

The AN/ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispenser System (CMDS) is an Electronic Warfare (EW) system affording combat aircrews with enhanced survivability in all hostile environments. It integrates simply with a variety of EW systems (such as MWS, RWR and jammers), and has the capacity to dispense up to 16 different expendable countermeasures. The AN/ALE-47 system is highly configurable and includes a Control Display Unit (CDU), as well as a programmer, safety switches, dispensers and sequencers.

AN/ALE-47 FLIGHT LINE SAFETY TEST

The Symetrics Countermeasures Dispenser Test (CDT) set performs flight line safety and functional checks of the AN/ALE-47. The set is two CDTs in a single, weather-resistant carrying case, with the capacity to be carried by one person. Each CDT consists of a weather-resistant frame, a multi-line, backlit alphanumeric LCD display, required control switches, internal electronics and sensor contacts, and handles. The unit is battery powered by easily replaceable D cell batteries, and is totally self-contained.

PRISM IMAGING IDM SYSTEM

The PRISM-equipped IDM combines the enhanced functionality of a low cost, small size, light weight, multi-channel, intelligent, digital modem with the video imagery transfer capability of the Photo Telesis Military MicroRIT. This system provides the means to integrate imagery capability into an existing IDM, or via a VME IDM on a laptop computer. The image-handling capability can compress and crop the selected pictures to offer the user an enhanced situation-awareness functionality.
