Military gas turbine MRO

We operate Australia’s leading military gas turbine MRO operation, which is fully supported by a comprehensive engineering, repair and manufacturing capability that is second to none in the region. It also allows over 95% of all repairs to be completed on-site.

Our gas turbine engine MRO operation at Arnberley provides complete overhaul and test capability for large and small gas turbine engines, including precision balancing equipment bearing room facility and computer controlled engine test capability.

Design engineering and technical service

Propulsion repair design is a speciality that helps ensure the best value and life can be gained from engine parts. This is achieved through the use of proven repair design techniques and experience, finite element and gas path analysis and materials testing.

Complementing the repair design capability, we also have a mature Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) program based upon condition monitored maintenance principles that have been proven in service. This helps produce significantly improved maintenance and performance outcomes for the TF3O engine.

fleet planning tools help us optimise engine fleet availability and maintenance schedules. This has led to us becoming the strategic fleet manager for the P&W TF3O engine of the Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF) F-ill fleet.

MRO - airframe components

Supporting Australia’s regional and major airline operators, our Aviation Services team is based at TAE’s Brisbane Airport facility and offers proven experience in providing solutions for aviation component maintenance and design requirements.

Our modern MRO capability for aircraft wheels, brakes and hydraulic/fuel accessory components is approved under a CASA CAR3O Maintenance approval.

Aircraft engine components

Our component maintenance workshops operate 21 specialised test rigs which are used for testing of fuel control units, pumps and nozzles, actuators, coolers, control valves, engine starters and APUs.

We also provide a wide range of in-house certified repairs to military, commercial and OEM standards.

Precision metal machining and manufacturing

TAE has an unbeatable reputation as a specialist aerospace and industrial manufacturer Our precision machining workshops have a wide range of machining capabilities, from large vertical and horizontal borers to high speed S-axis CNC machining centres, lathes and electrical discharge machining centres.

Our climate controlled machining and grinding facilities provide specialist support through the use of advanced manufacturing techniques and state of the art equipment that enables TAE to machine and measure small, close tolerance parts.

Electroplating and specialist processing

Our electroplating workshop processes aircraft and engine components to meet the exacting specifications demanded by the aerospace industry. This high quality standard is also applied to any non-aviation work, providing superior quality for all applications in one convenient location, satisfying all your job requirements.

Our specialist processing range includes robotic controlled shot-peening and plasma coatings, electroplating and surface coating, heat treatment, vacuum brazing, TIG welding of aircraft parts and spot and gas welding for surface refurbishment.

Support and test equipment design, fabrication and maintenance

Providing a range of design, fabrication, maintenance and logistic support services, TAE supports a broad range of industries with a large variety of quality support &test equipment products.

With our customers ranging from military, commercial airlines and private enterprise, we provide a comprehensive service from design to final delivery.

Aircraft stripping and painting

At RA4F Base Richmond, New South Wales, we operate Australia’s premier aircraft repainting and corrosion control facility. This purpose-built, environmentally compliant facility has the capacity for fully stripping and repainting aircraft.

Our painters have extensive experience in repainting aircraft from PC9 trainers to B767-300 airliners. We also offer training in large aircraft repainting up to certificate IV under the Australian Quality framework.

Aircraft decal application and graphics

Application of graphics and advertising decals is also a speciality. We play a leading role in successful aircraft graphic advertising and marketing programs for customers both in Australia and overseas.
