BCF Designs Ltd Wins Major US Government Tender
06 June 2008 13:37
BCF Designs Ltd, in conjunction with US company Ultra Electronics/Flightline Systems, has won a major competitive bid to supply the US Flying Navy with Fuel Quantity Test Sets.
Under the contract, BCF will manufacture and supply up to 1025 test sets to the US Department of Defense, and will integrate them onto aircraft such as the F18, EA-6B, C130 and P3.
BCF Designs’ Managing Director Gareth John said: “This contract confirms that our fuel quantity test set is recognised as a market leader: There have been only two major contracts to supply fuel quantity system test sets to government in recent years and BCF Designs has won them both.”
In August 2001, BCF Designs beat off competition from several major companies to win the contract to supply the UK Ministry of Defence with fuel system test sets across all their aircraft. Since then, the test set has been integrated on to more than 20 aircraft platforms, both rotary and fixed wing.
BCF’s Fuel Quantity Test Set is unique in being microprocessor-driven. It takes measurements and calculates pass/fail limits automatically and so eliminates operator error. It reduces test time by around 50% and provides diagnostic, preventative and trend data for download and analysis.
BCF Designs is a UK company specialising in the design and supply of ground support equipment for the military and civil aerospace markets.
