RD Taylor is a major stockist and distributor of an extensive range of market leading and MOD/DOD approved adhesives, sealants, lubricants, paints, coatings, tapes, abrasives and associated materials extensively used and specified throughout the air force and aviation-related sectors.

Supplying to a range of OEM and MRO facilities, including the MoD and major contractors, we are fully conversant with the specifications associated with these materials, including AIMS, BAC, BMS, SMS, MIL-C, MIL-PRF, MIL-S, BSX, MSRR and NSN codification. RD Taylor. can satisfy the required quality assurance and traceability demands of aviation related customers, as well as offering full technical support for all products.

Adhesives, cleaners and primers

RD Taylor is a major distributor of adhesives and related materials from Henkel Loctite, Huntsman Araldite, 3M, Hysol, Bostik, ITW Devcon, Emerson and Cummings, etc. Product ranges include adhesives made fromacrylics, anaerobics, cyanoacrylates, epoxies, filmic, metal repair epoxies, polysulphides, polyurethanes, resins, solvent based, UV curing, void fillers, wear resistant epoxy and putty.

Fast or slow curing, rigid or flexible, flowable or thixotropic. From the smallest pack size to the larger "bulk" systems, associated cleaners, de-greasers, primers and curing agents are also available.

RTV sealants and two-part silicones

Used for a wide variety of applications, our ranges of RTV sealants and two-part silicones from ACC Silicones, Bostik, Dow Corning, Hylomar and Momentive, and polysulphide sealants from leading sources are amongst the products we supply. Our RTV sealants, silicone and polysulphide products feature a number of unique properties, such as high-temperature resistance, fuel resistance, re-enterability, self levelling capability, fast curing, thermal and electrical conductivity, and environmental resistance.

A range of silicone and acrylic conformal coatings for electronic equipment protection, as well as resin encapsulation products for more rugged applications, and manufactured by Electrolube, Devcon, and Huntsman Araldite are also readily available.

Certified aviation lubricants

Oils and greases, cartridges and barrels - our lubricants from Shell, Aeroshell, Molykote, Castrol, Mobil, Rocol, Fuchs and other manufacturers are used in numerous aviation environments. A wide range of materials are released to specifications that include DTD, DEF STAN, MIL-PRF, OM, OX and PX.

Water-based paints and coatings

From the latest generation of water-based paints to established primers, polyurethane and acrylic top-coats and speciality coatings (including chemical agent resistant coatings (CARC), IR, thermal masking, anti-static and conductive), we can supply an extensive range of industry approved products, colour matched to BS381C and FED STN if required, for applications including interiors, exterior priming, exterior top coats and wing-walk.

Single and double-sided adhesive tapes

From surface protection tapes to single and double sided adhesive tapes, our ranges from Maskoff (Protex), 3M, SCAPA and other market leading manufacturers have extensive uses in aircraft manufacture and MRO.

Flame, smoke, toxicity (FST) qualified products for internal bonding of substrates, VHB tapes for high strength bonding, protex paper and polyester films for surface protection of both internal and external surfaces are a few of our products. Adhesives include acrylic, rubber, silicone, latex and base materials include polyester, paper and polyimide. Die-cuts, rolls, logs and custom made sizes can be provided.

Abrasives and polishing materials

During both OEM and MRO, our ranges of abrasives and polishing materials from 3M and Micro-Surface, (Micromesh), are widely specified. Applications include paint and sealant removal, aluminium polishing, acrylic window and canopy restoration, wood veneer and similar high quality soft surface restoration. Maskoff Protex is used to protect critical surfaces from accidental damage during MRO procedures.
