AMA - Fuel Handling Equipment and Installation Services

AMA Spa is specialized in the design, manufacturing and installation of aviation and ground-fuel handling equipment, aimed for dispensing and storage.

Our wide range of fuel handling products offer a suitable answer to a rapid deployment of bulk fuel installations for diesel, petrol or aviation fuel, as well as permanent and semi-permanent solutions with containerized storage and refuelling systems.

For the last years, AMA has intensively worked with various peacekeeping missions and military operations worldwide, providing them with a range of ground fuel and aviation refuelling and storage systems, logistic support, deployment and installation of fully equipped fuel plants on site.

AVIATION FUEL TRAILER

Aviation Fuel Trailer (AFT) has been designed to meet the requirements of technicians involved in jet-fuel handling operations in remote areas. AFT can be connected with a set of bladders or metal fuel tanks and allows following proceedings:

• Fuel receipt from a road tanker or fuel carrying aircraft
• Fuel transfer and filtration within installations (bladder to bladder; tank to tank)
• De-fuelling an aircraft
• Refuelling an aircraft

AFT is available in different flow-rates and executions. Main components are:

• Steel structure welded on a chassis with fifth wheel
• Diesel driven engine with exhaust system and spark arrestor
• Inlet / outlet manifold with tank unit self-seal adapters, auxiliary connections and dust caps, to perform fuel transfer, recirculation and filtering operations
• Positive displacement pump with inlet filter
• Filter water separator with differential pressure gauge
• Monitor filter with differential pressure gauge (as an option)
• Flow-meter
• Hose reel with aviation refuelling hose type C, with couplings and fittings
• Overwing / underwing nozzles
• Stainless steel fuel decanter vessel for the collection of drained and fuel samples
• All necessary security devices

All fuel wetted surfaces are in stainless steel, aluminium or other material compatible with jet fuel. Equipment and any conducted body are electrically bonded.

A smaller concept of the aviation fuel trailer is the FTP-xs, a diesel-engine driven pump, mounted on a two-wheel compact sturdy structure with filter and hosereel, which ensures easy maneuverability on hilly ground.

JET FUEL CONTAINERIZED REFUELLING SYSTEMS (JP8, F43 OR JET A-1)

After a few years in operation, bladder farms are usually replaced with temporary or semi-temporary solutions. Therefore, AMA offers containerized storage and refuelling systems available in ISO 20ft or 40ft containers (DROPS), which allow safe storage and refuelling operations. Main components are:

• Electrical positive displacement pump
• Positive displacement meter with air eliminator
• Filter water separator and monitor filter with differential pressure gauges
• Fuel sampling
• Hose-reel with refuelling hose and underwing / overwing nozzle
• Explosion-proof electrical control panel
• Generator for electrical power supply of the system
• All necessary piping, valves and instrumentation for correct and safe operation of the system

Storage capacity can be increased by aligning various containerized storage modules in battery (with single wall or double wall tanks) - and connecting them to a pump and filtering unit.

Containerized storage and refuelling systems are also available with similar concept and design for diesel and / or petrol.
