Oran Safety Glass (OSG) is a leading Israeli developer and producer of bulletproof, forced entry and blast resistant glass for both the automotive and building industries. OSG-Armor's superior bulletproof glass is the culmination of an intensive professional research and development program carried out in close cooperation with the Israel Defence Forces (IDF). Real time battlefield data is immediately processed and challenges identified to serve OSG-Armor's R&D team in creating the most resistant and resilient products required for today's security needs. OSG-Armor has succeeded in defining and deriving optimum solutions to a broad threat spectrum, including the very real threat of attack on both person and property by highly sophisticated weaponry. Our bulletproof glass, more than capable of repelling physical and ballistic attack, is continuously saving lives and protecting property. FORCED-ENTRY RESISTANT TRANSPARENCIES The OSG-Armor forced-entry transparencies are a high quality, multifunctional anti-penetration glass, designed to withstand any form of physical attack over a considerable period of time. Implementing a unique and advanced multi-layer technology, these products have been approved by the Israeli Intelligence Services and are considered indestructible. The protection level of each product is defined by its threat level, measured in terms of time or tooling. The OSG-Armor forced-entry transparencies comprise a multiple layer combination of glass and polycarbonate (glass-clad) and can be reshaped to meet any product standard for architectural design. The use of polycarbonate and additional advanced polymers gives these products their extraordinary lightweight feature. The combination of glass and polycarbonate enables the glass to maintain a high level of visible light transmission. These transparencies can be supplied in either flat or curved forms. THREAT LEVEL AND TEST PROCEDURES Test procedures are conducted to evaluate the combined performance, according to the defined threat level. Each test procedure defines which weapons are used as well as the number of impacts and sequence of attacks, based on a specific list of weapons. Our forced entry transparencies comply with even the most stringent world standards, including the ASTM F1233, European Standards and the Israeli Standard. These OSG-Armor forced-entry glass are suitable for installation at numerous high-security facilities such as embassies, consulates, official institutions, prisons, detention centers, jewelry shops, police stations, hospitals and more. BLAST RESISTANT TRANSPARENCIES Bomb attacks have become prevalent worldwide over the past decade, as bombs have grown to become one of the most popular weapons used by international terrorist organizations and extremist groups. These attacks can cause heavy damage to buildings, properties and the environment as well as causing injury to people and taking numerous lives. Bomb attacks such as these are causing concern amongst people across the world, raising the awareness of governments, civilians and military forces. Israel currently dominates the blast resistant transparency sector, investing widespread resources on intensive research on this distressing issue. We never know when, where and who may be the next target. Glass fragmentation has been identified as one of the main causes of injury in such blasts. For over 15 years, OSG's Armor Division, in collaboration with the IDF Technology Division, has been investing great amounts of resources to develop and adapt anti-blast glazing, transparencies and framing systems. The division has been continuously developing a wide range of blast-resistant transparency products designed to meet these growing needs and provide a suitable response to the specific characteristics of a bomb attack. The ultimate goal for the cutting-edge blast-resistant transparency products is to avoid the wave pressure that enables the penetration of buildings through their openings (windows and doors), by using an advanced plastic interlayer which holds the glass together and a uniquely adapted framing system, which retains the glazing along the openings. Ultimately, these combined features enable a significant reduction in flying glass and human injury.
