Saab - Air Command and Control Systems

Saab is a leading supplier of customised command and control systems for air, land or naval use – from the operator level to the tactical and higher strategic levels. In the air defence command and control area Saab offers the full spectrum of systems, from traditional C2 solutions to highly advanced, network-based C4I systems.

AIR COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEMS

Saab is a reliable supplier to a large number of customers in all parts of the world. One of our key success factors is that we always adapt our command and control systems to the customer's needs in close cooperation with the customer and the end-user during our projects. Long-term relationships and mutual understanding between the customer and Saab is highly important.

CUSTOMISED COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEMS

A C4I system gives you full control of your operational situation, and Saab has long experience of designing and building C4I solutions adaptable to specific customer needs. These include C4I for air forces; command and control systems for ground-based air defence; mission-support systems for fighters and other aircraft; and airborne C2 solutions.

COMMERCIAL COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEMS

Saab comprises a broad spectrum of competencies and capabilities, and are not only able to offer sophisticated C4I technology, but also develop, manufacture and deliver a wide range of advanced products and services for defence customers, as well as for a growing number of commercial applications.

AFFORDABLE C4I SYSTEMS

Based on the combined knowledge within the Saab group, we can provide very affordable C4I solutions capable of building on existing investments within areas such as fighter aircraft and Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft; communication solutions; tactical data links; data-fusion products and extractors, ground-based and airborne sensors; and related training and simulation for engineers, pilots and operators.

Saab can also help improve your need analyses, live tests and demonstrations, and also assist you when evaluating results.

MODULAR COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEMS

Saab's modular C4I systems can:

  • Handle a high number of connected sources simultaneously and provide the customer with a combined recognised situation picture from various types of active and passive sensors
  • Handle joint tasks in combined environments: customers' requirements for interoperability are natural and we adapt our systems to what the customers needs
  • Be delivered for both an office environment (with COTS hardware), or for a rough environment (in ruggedised and environment-tested consoles)
  • Easily be expanded with other types of functionality in order to use the system in other operations
  • Be scalable and flexible: we can easily change the number of operator workstations, and our systems are scalable from a single workstation up to almost unlimited numbers of workstations

OPEN-STANDARD ARCHITECTURE AND MODULAR TECHNOLOGY

Our mission is to bring you an affordable and reliable command and control system solution that allows your air defence command and control capabilities to grow application by application. This means that you can develop these capabilities step-by-step without replacing existing investments.

By using open-standard architecture and modular technology your system will be prepared for future growth and usable in a range of other application areas. Together we build a future-proof solution that fits the systems you are already operating.

CONSTANT SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT

Saab's C4I command and control systems are under constant development and our systems are aiming towards fully net-centric operations. In the international standardisation process Saab is a driving force working closely together with other large companies and organisations, such as NCOIC.
