RWM Schweiz AG, the New Name of Medium-Calibre Specialist Oerlikon Contraves Pyrotec AG

Effective immediately, Oerlikon Contraves Pyrotec AG of Zurich, a company of the Rheimetall DeTec Group, will be trading under a new name: RWM Schweiz AG.
Following last year's systematic restructuring of the Weapon and Munitions division of Rheinmetall DeTec AG, the new name is intended to drive home the message of the Group's hard-hitting effectiveness. Together with Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH (the Mauser Oberndorf plant), RWM Schweiz AG forms the medium-calibre product unit of the Weapon and Munitions division.
This reorganization, now largely complete, involved the merger of a number of subsidiaries to form the company Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH (RWM), streamlined to respond to the changing needs of tomorrow's armed forces.
Apart from Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH, the Weapon and Munitions division encompasses the Nitrochemie Group and, since 2002, the Swiss company Oerlikon Contraves Pyrotec AG (OCP).
Unaffected by this change of name is Oerlikon Contraves AG (also based in Zurich), the Air Defence branch of the Rheinmetall DeTec family of companies.
The other two divisions of Rheinmetall DeTec – Land Systems and Defence Electronics – make the Group a global leader in armoured vehicles and defence electronics, too.
